Extension of an existing loft conversion In Harwich, Essex
Fronks Road, Harwich, Essex
We were commissioned to undertake a substantial overhaul and extension of an existing loft conversion to an early 20th Century detached house. The existing rear dormer and roof was to be stripped off and a new rear dormer across the full width of the rear to be built in its place. The design had to be done to compliment the existing character of the building with the new dormer constructed behind the existing rear roof gables. This had the effect of softening the appearance and considerably opening up the living space in the loft.
We undertook the full design to maximise the potential space within the loft and keep as much headroom as possible. Careful beam design was incorporated to minimise timber spans so therefore maintaining good headroom. We undertook the full design including Structural calculations which was granted full Building Regulations approval.
